Safety — Our Standards for Agafay Quad Tours
Safety is built into every aspect of how we run Agafay quad tours. Here is what we put in place to ensure your experience goes well.
Pre-ride safety briefing
Before every tour, your guide runs a complete safety briefing covering quad controls (start, stop, braking, gears where applicable), correct riding position, on-track rules (safe distances, signals) and what to do in the event of a fall or incident. This briefing is not a formality — we take it seriously, especially with participants who have never ridden before.
Well-maintained quad bikes
Our quads are regularly serviced. Before each outing, vehicles are checked to confirm that brakes, engine, tyres and controls are all in working order. We do not put a quad on the track unless it has passed this pre-departure check.
Experienced local guides
Every tour is accompanied by a guide with detailed knowledge of the Agafay tracks. They adapt the pace to the group, assist any participant who runs into difficulty and maintain visibility of the whole group throughout the ride. Our guides know where the technical sections are and manage the group accordingly.
Equipment and appropriate clothing
Protective equipment (helmets where available) is provided on site. We also recommend covering clothing and closed shoes for the best protection on the tracks. See our what to bring guide for the complete list of what to wear and bring.
Responsible off-road riding
We guide our tours along established Agafay tracks and respect the local landscape. Reckless riding, unauthorised off-track excursions and excessive speed are not permitted. The guide can stop a tour if safety rules are not followed. Our responsibility is to the wellbeing of every participant — and to the terrain.
Weather conditions
Agafay enjoys sunny conditions for most of the year. In summer, daytime temperatures can be high — we recommend bringing sunscreen and sufficient water, and considering early morning or late afternoon departures. In the event of exceptional weather (heavy rain, strong wind), we will contact you in advance to discuss rescheduling or alternative options.
Medical considerations
If you have back or knee problems, a medical condition, are pregnant or have any situation that could affect your ability to ride a quad, please let us know before booking. We will assess whether the tour is appropriate for your situation and suggest alternatives where relevant. Your wellbeing always takes priority over the booking.
